Welcome back to my Odds and Ends column, hope you did not miss it too much last issue!

Congratulations to the Chicago White Sox for winning the World Series! I don't think anyone thought they were going to sweep the Astros. Chicago now finally has a champion baseball team after all these years! Cubs fans think that their team is next up. I agree, maybe in 100 years!

Speaking of Cubs fans, some switched into Sox fans after their great season. What a shame, it sounds like some are starting to finally give up. I still do not understand how Cubs fans could root for the Sox. Most, though, rooted for Houston, which gave the Astros the legendary Cubs-bad luck and is why the Sox won.

Bear down Chicago Bears! They are alone in first in the league's worst division. As much as I hate to admit it, they are in great shape to win the division and make the playoffs. That's okay, it'll be one and it's done!

Tennessee continues to kill me after losing back-to-back games because of fumbles in the end zone. They had No. 4 Alabama beat at Alabama until a fumble went through the end zone for an Alabama touchback. It is safe to say I was going crazy, but if they can upset Notre Dame, it will be worth the struggles!

Speaking of Tennessee, they are 109th in scoring offense, and their offensive coordinator resigned. Thank you, now we might finally throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field!

Terrell Owens has his house for sale for $15 million, because he said it is too big for one person. I guess all of his egos have worn out their welcome.

What is the point of a shootout in hockey if you still get a point if you lose? Then again, what is the point of having hockey back in general?

The NBA is ready to start another season, and it will be interesting to see how the players on the bench dress with the new dress code. I still do not understand what the players are complaining about, after all it is a business. I do think that all dress code fines should go to support my college fund. Then again, I would only need one or two fines to pay off my entire college education!

The Vikings are in major trouble after their cruise scandal during their by week, and now Daunte Culpepper is out for the year. Mike Tice better do a great job scalping his tickets this year because he will be out of a job after the season.
