Hate it or love it: 'Sox-sational'

Cubs fans should appreciate what Sox have accomplished thus far

After decades of waiting, a city of hungry baseball fans will finally receive that meal that they so do deserve.

Forty-six years of frustration, gone in one knee bending break of a Jose Contreras curveball. Now replaced with excitement and anticipation for this weekend. Finally, the town is going to a have a world series title.
With the White Sox domination of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Orange County, California (or whatever they are being called now) in five games, it seems as though this city will finally become a Sox town, instead of "Cub Nation".

Hasn't it?

Well not exactly. It's true that Ozzie Guillen is the new mayor of Bridgeport, but sadly enough this World Series birth for the southsiders probably won't be enough to overtake the north in this cities' civil war.
That faint sound you hear right now is the buzz coming from the Sox diehards. Otherwise many others haven't embraced this team.

After the Sox beat the Angels Sunday night, I watched the news and saw a live shot of Rush Street on the Near North Side. But the streets looked nearly empty. The North Side just doesn't seem to care too much about the Sox. There is more action on the North Side when the Cubs beat the Reds during the regular season.

The Sox never vacated first place in the American League for a single day this season. They were tested by the young Cleveland Indians but withstood their strong second half push. They clinched the AL Central, swept past the Red Sox in the first round, and had their pitching staff shine in their most important moment of the season against the Angels.
Can it be that drama was missing from this team? Naw it's not that at all.

Is it because this team has players with eagos the size of White Sox trainer Herm Schinders belly?

Naw, its not that either. This is most unselfish team that I have seen in a long time. Everyone on the team has their own role, and each player knows it. The only eago-driven player would be Frank Thomas and although he was injured for the second half of the year, he even adopted the "team first" mentallity this year.
