The Lewis University men's track team captured the GLVC title and were able to tally 216 points. The closest competitor was Southern Illinois-Edwardsville with 193 points.

Head Coach Bob Schultz was awarded Coach of the Year and Billy Stadele grabbed GLVC Men's Athlete of the Year. "It was a nice award because I do a lot for the conference meet, and Lewis really has not got one in the past few years. It kind of feels like they hate us in the conference," said Stadele about his honorable award. Stadele won the long jump with a meet record of 23-5, which also was a provisional national qualifying mark. That was not enough for Stadele, so he went on to place second in pole vault with an automatic qualifying mark of 17-0. Stadele also placed seventh in high jump with 6'1.

Placing first in the pole vault was Mark Zilch with 17'0. Also winning a conference title was Geoff Rozovics in the 200-meter dash with a provisional qualifying time of 22.14 seconds. "I was pretty excited that I got my best time of the year, but I did not make it to nationals," Rozovics said about his performance. Another title winner was Mike Eck in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.68.

Dave Dobersztyn also placed first in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.46. Being hard on himself after the win, Dobersztyn stated, "It was a good race, but I expected more from myself." He also finished fifth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.50. Prince Ntim also made his mark as a conference winner in the triple jump with 45-9. Andy Tremble finished second in the mile with a time of 4:17.15 and he also placed second in the 3000-meter with a time of 8:41.83. Kellen Monroe had a second place finish in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.42 seconds.

Monroe said, "Last year I felt I did not step up so this year I was motivated to step up as a gift to Coach Schultz and Coach Sterling, and also to rally the team on to a victory." Another second place finisher was J'ean Middleton in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 25.15 seconds. Josh Grys placed third in the pole vault with a height of 14-11 ft. Richard Sims placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a provisional qualifying time of 22.38 seconds. Other fourth place finishers were; Middleton in the 400-meter (50.25), Josh Thompson in the mile (4:23.85), Larry Anzalone in the 3000-meter (8:49.45), Chris Foley in the 5000-meter (15:29.20), Chance Eiker in the pole vault (14-5), and Jason Klein in the shot put (49-8 1/4).

There was a second place finish for the 4x400 meter relay that included McCants, Middleton, Sims, and Rozovics, with a time of 3:18.82. The distance medley relay placed third with the efforts of Braulio Benitez, Michael Skinner, Emory Burdette, and Alberto Villa with a time of 10:44.49. The men's team put forth enough effort to take the title of GLVC Indoor Conference Champions.
