Let's say your sitting around in your room either by yourself or with a group of friends on a Friday night here at Lewis, looking for something to do. You guys don't really feel like going to a party, or going out and spending your money on stuff like food, a movie, or going bowling.Instead, how about this as an alternative; take a trip to the Lewis; library and as you walk in on your far right you will see a bunch of racks filled with a variety of movies and DVDs. This beats paying 15 or so bucks to see a movie and buying snacks, and renting from the video store allows you the ability to sit in the comforts of your own room and just lay back and relax.

The Lewis video store has changed locations and is now located in the library after being in the Student Union building last year. Every rental is free of charge and between 3-5 days is allowed for them to be checked out.

The video store has a choice of either a movie, or DVD. The movies tremendously outnumber the DVDS, and many students have a VCR in their room as opposed to a DVD player, so will start there. The videos are divided up into nine different categories. The categories include: music, family, comedy, science fiction, action, horror, suspense, drama, and romance.

The music section includes, Grease, West Side Story, Saturday Night Fever, Fitness Now, and Paul McCartney in Red Square. The Family section includes movies such as Free Willy, Lion King, Lilo and Stitch, Jumangi, Aladdin, Jingle All the Way, and Night Before Christmas. The comedy section is the largest section and has the most to choose from, and includes such favorites as Caddy shack, Animal House, City Slickers, Slap Shot, Father of Bride, Happy Gilmore, Nutty Professor, Cool Runnings, and Major League.

Freshmen Zach Stiles, who works at the front desk in the library, and helps people check out movies, said, "a lot of videos from the comedy section go pretty quickly, especially a lot of old sports classics. We have the most variety in this section for a reason, and many people are out of luck because the movie they want is already gone."

The next section we come to is the science fiction movies, which include Jurassic Park, Godzilla, Lost in Space, Stargate, and many of the Star Wars movies.
